[News] AP Savings and Loan Robbery

7/15/2015

AP police are searching for a man they say attempted to rob the AP Savings and Loan on Tuesday. According to police reports, the suspect was seen fleeing the bank with a large bag and waving a gun.  According to the AP Bank though, nothing was stolen.

The suspect is described as a male, standing 6’ tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black suit and blue shirt and tie and it was indicated that he was armed with a weapon.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact APPD or the AP Times’ TipLine (degenphilp)

[Life] AP PD - Dalliances and Donuts

How safe do the citizens of Asphyxiation Point feel these days?

Responses to that question came in grim as this reporter sifted through her notes of the week.

On the tails of the holiday weekend arrest of an officer on sexual misconduct allegations (who by the way later turned out a madman) this week brings a report of one prominent AP police department member who was more concerned with getting a date -- well that is a polite way of putting it -- by flirting with those in jeopardy than with responding promptly to their outcries for assistance. Information from a confidential informant places the officer in question high in the ranks.  Even though one sexual offender was brought to justice recently, women seem concerned that the minds of those supposedly serving are more interested in being serviced.

911 is even more lax.

Despite the recent shutting down of our local bakery, assorted sugary treats are still the food of choice for the folks in blue. These calorie laden and dare I say energy sapping concoctions are even more easily accessible with the opening of  a coffee shop, Flick the Bean,  at number 10  2nd St --  not even a block away from both our fire and safety first lines of defense. The response time of emergency calls is even lower than previous reports as those manning the phones lick their fingers before sending out aid.

Will the citizens of Asphyxiation Point move grievance airing out of their living rooms and into the more official arenas?  Some think we need to clean up the police department in order to clean up our streets.

[News] Madman shot and killed by local PD

7/14/2015

After a long continuous search, the hunt for ex-APPD Officer Sidney William Berry AKA Sid is finally over.  Sources close to the times have reported that the crazed serial killer was shot and killed Monday during a confrontation with APPD Sergeant, Jay Biafra.

Sid was arrested earlier in the week over sexual misconduct charges but later escaped. Police raided a home located on Third Street looking for the male fugitive. The man was not in the house, sources say, but the officers did find four victims, 2 of which were pronounced dead at the scene.

Unfortunately the tragic story did not end there as authorities found the body Officer Bookem, an officer with the Asphyxiation Point Police Department, Sunday after being brutally murdered.

The Killing rampage and terror in AP went on for days keeping citizens on edge before the unrelenting determination of the APPD triumphed and brought down the psychotic murderer.  Tonight as we once again are able to appreciate peace of mind and knowledge that our small community is safe from this monster, let us all take a moment and remember those that did not escape his wrath and give thanks for the brave men and women at our local APPD.

[Life] Domestic Violence? Not Here!

7/13/2015

Approximately 12 million people in the United States are affected by domestic violence. The fact is, domestic violence will affect or touch every single one of us in our lifetime.  Living in a small town, it is typical to overlook signs that this violence’s occurs in our own backyard but not for one local woman.  After being struck by her husband, witnesses suggest Elle McCaw became enraged and proceeded to tackle and repay her biker husband in-kind.  No arrest or charges were brought against the couple, as the APPD felt Mr. McCaw’s punishment at the hands of his wife would suffice.

[News] Chaos in the Street

7/13/2015

You never know what is waiting around the corner here in good ol' Asphyxiation Point.  Just this afternoon, I had a hankering for a burger and was headed over to the diner.  It seemed that a couple of AP's finest juvenile delinquents - a man and a woman - had decided to vandalize a police cruiser parked there.  In fact, by the time Sgt. Jay Biafra arrived on the scene to investigate, the cruiser was on fire. Not just that, the young man dressed in white decided to up his charges from vandalism to assaulting an officer of the law by throwing a knife at the poor lone cop.

Fortunately Sgt. Biafra was not hurt and moved quickly and efficiently - tasering and subduing the young woman in black first. And that's where things started to go wrong. Naturally, the arrest itself drew comments and  criticism about police brutality from the very public Sgt. Biafra was trying to protect - something of a recurring theme in Asphyxiation Point. Even worse, a weapon was produced by the man in white and one of the dissenting voices was taken hostage. Sgt Biafra tried to reason with the man, but was only fired upon in response causing both the crowd and him to duck.

Coincidentally, the fire truck showed up right that moment to put out the fire which was blazing by this point. And that's where the arrest went really really wrong. While it is unclear whether the assailants were just in the wrong place or whether the fireman took it upon himself to do a little crowd control, the man in white found himself directly in the path of the high pressure jet.  The hostage was violently released but in the ensuing flood of water and fire retardant, the couple managed to make their escape.

Confused by the turn of events, none of the 3 officers on the scene offered any kind of pursuit. I took it upon myself to comment about the apparent bungling of this arrest to Chief DeSanta.  I shouldn't have. To my defense, the article on Officer Bookem being killed was still in print at the time and no one had mentioned it to me. The chief understandably went on a rant about the Times only covering what we wanted to cover and where I had been yesterday when one of their own had been killed in the line of duty.

I can understand the Chief's frustration.  It must seem to him as if the Times only points out the obvious blunders and the lack of crime solving while they do do their best to keep us safe. While the perpetrators got away, no one was hurt at least as a result of the PD and FD's actions today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the officer Bookem's family and his friends on the force.  And we as a community share the Chief's feelings... wanting nothing more than to have our streets safe again.

[News] Cop murdered ! Murderer still on the loose

7/12/2015

A small town and its police force were rocked by tragedy Sunday when they lost one of their own. Officer Bookem, an officer with the Asphyxiation Point Police Department, was believed to be killed Sunday Morning while on duty.   Authorities found his body in a residence that had previously been raided the day before.  While the police were close-lipped about the incident and were attempting to keep details of the raid very quiet, a little digging by yours truly reveals a truly horrifying tale.

According to AP sources, police raided a home located on Third Street looking for a male fugitive, Sid.  For those of you who do not remember, ex-APPD Officer Sidney William Berry AKA Sid was arrested earlier in the week over sexual misconduct charges but later escaped.

The man was not in the house, sources say, but the officers did find four victims, 2 of which were pronounced dead at the scene.  The other 2 unnamed victims were taken to the local hospital for critical medical treatment.   Sources close to the Times said along with the victims, they found evidence of cannibalism. While it is unclear what other horrors were unearthed, one thing is truly clear - There is a madman on the loose and Asphyxiation Point better beware.

[News] Jailbreak !

7/9/2015

It appears that the officer who was recently dismissed and arrested over sexual misconduct charges has now escaped !

The suspect is reported to have been found moaning and bleeding from his mouth at 6:15pm  today.  Concerned for his well-being, the officer in charge proceeded to call the hospital for immediate aid. The ruse did not become obvious until after the cell was opened for a closer examination. While the exact specifics remain foggy, the suspect was able to escape police custody during the chaos that ensued.

In an effort to enroll the public in their manhunt, the PD has admitted that the escaped convict is none other than ex-APPD Officer Sidney William Berry AKA Sid. Police say the male suspect has gray hair, with a gray beard and mustache. He appears to be in his 50’s and has light colored eyes.  He is missing and ear and should be sporting gunshot injury to the shoulder which he presumably obtained during his escape.

The suspect is to be presumed armed and extremely dangerous. Anyone with information in regards to this incident or the suspect is asked to call the APPD immediately.
