Businesses
Whether you are an individual criminal or part of a gang, using a legitimate business as a front will greatly enhance your Roleplay. Businesses are the perfect way to maintain a legitimate public persona and stay out of the PD's sights, as well as meet potential new clients and recruits. Most of the SIM owned businesses are also connected to the underground storm drains letting you get around in secret.

Underground storm drains
Originally created to deal with hurricane-related flooding, the storm drains were long ago re-purposed by smugglers needing to get around without being seen. Clicking on metal pipes along the walls of the underground storm sewer may still lead you to one of many abandoned rooms hidden from the public eye. Be aware that access pipes to individual rooms constantly change as drains get clogged and others are opened.

Shared underground bases
There are only so many ways to safely smuggle and stockpile goods, people and money on such a tiny island. Of the many hidden rooms built by smugglers, three remain in regular use to this very day. While many criminal enterprises have fought over these bases, years of turf war and the resulting decline in the tourist trade convinced them to cooperate for mutual benefit. Today, an uneasy truce exists between criminals operating in each neighborhood that enables them to share these bases. Every time a gang decides they would like to try and monopolize a base by shutting someone out, the remaining (player and NPC) gangs band together to teach them a lesson. After all, a prolonged turf war with every man for himself benefits no one as history has shown.
So which underground base should I be looking for?
The Dockside Underground
The dockside underground base is the oldest secret base in Asphyxiation Point. Besides the storm drains, this base is also directly connected to the lower town docks allowing small boats to sneak in with illicit substances under the cover of night. Today, this base serves mainly as a conduit to smuggle drugs into town and pretty much everyone connected with the drug trade directly or indirectly operates out of the dockside underground base. The dockside underground group is thus a good resource to get in touch with other like minded roleplayers and coordinate drug trade related Roleplay.

The Red Light UndergroundThe red light district started off as just a brothel run by a couple of whores. Once the tourists started arriving however, the prostitution trade became too important for criminals to ignore. The place was overrun and the whores were subjugated. Over time, the area under the RLD was repurposed to smuggle and train young women to work the streets. While the businesses on the surface look a bit more respectable now, most criminals dealing with prostitution and human trafficking are still based in the RLD. The Red Light Underground group is thus a good way to find other role-players and coordinate sexploitation roleplay.

The Uptown UndergroundUpper town was born specifically to cater to elite, the rich and the most powerful. It should come as no surprise that some of it's residents came to their wealth through less than honorable means. Criminals in this area have have traditionally dealt with more refined crimes such as money laundering, and the theft of rare arts, books & jewelry. As their stockpiles grew however, they needed someplace to store this vast collection of books and art and the uptown base of operations was born. Linked to most major upper town businesses, this base is also accessible from the hidden underground city if one looks hard enough.
