Locals are still reeling over the festivities that went hand in hand with the APPD Ball Fundraiser, Wednesday that was hosted at the exclusive Aristocrat Club. Dressed to impressed and ready to dance the night away, the residents of AP provided donation envelopes in plenty to Chief of Police, Warwick DeSanta ready to see the police department back in full swing. Trading their uniforms in for a night in suits and gowns, members of the APPD graciously greeted and welcomed the eager crowd. Sophistication and style were the inimitable talents of business owners and professionals alike gathered to support and donate to assist the renovations of the PD building after the damages incurred during the last hurricane. Estimated repair cost could be close to 5 ½ million dollars. The glamorous space was filled with locals dancing, enjoying fine wines, champagne and h’orderves. The proceeds from the party itself of course were donated to the APPD as well.
Though an appearance by Stubby McCaw did seem to dampen spirits of a few locals briefly, Chief Warwick and his staff promptly diffused the situation. Mr. McCaw, a local biker club member and his guest made it very clear that they were not happy with being asked to leave, but did reluctantly comply. The energy and vibe of the part returned once again and locals celebrated well into the night.
