Othello Mikhailov had been in hiding for the last several days after he became a suspect in last week's residential break in and shooting. APPD had put out a warrant for him after he was identified by the victim of the crime. Detective Green radioed in that she had spotted wanted fugitive Othello Mikhailov by the canal between 2nd and 3rd. She pursued the suspect after calling in for back up and was soon joined by Chief DeSanta. The suspect hid in an alley way but then emerged and pulled a gun on the car with the Chief but continued to make off towards Canal street. Detective Green headed to 4th in order to cut the suspect off at the end of the alley while DeSanta pursued on foot. Officer Vyper also called to the scene joined the pursuit of the suspect. Mikhailov was ordered to stop but proceeded out of the alleyway where he aimed and shot Detective Green. Officer Vyper went around front while DeSanta fired two shots after Mikhailov. Mikhailov emerged from the alley and charged towards officer Vyper. DeSanta took the chance and fired off another two shots towards the suspect as he charged Officer Vyper. The bullets were successful in bringing down the suspect, but not before he knocked down Officer Vyper causing the officer's head to banged off the ground. Detective Green, Officer Vyper and the suspect were all taken to APH for treatment. Late last week, APPD dispatch received a call from a woman who claimed to have a victim on the other line who reported to her that she was in the sewers and was in need to rescuing. The caller described the suspect as Zoe Azariah. The caller reported that she sounded to be in distress and was described to police as naked and hurt. Police conducted a search of the lower sectors and then swept up to the upper sectors of town at this time and soon she was found in an unused storage room and was found trembling on a thin makeshift bed. The victim relayed to police that she had been brought to the location by a masked male. The victim was deemed at this time to be showing signs of shock. She was at that point removed from the cell and taken to APH for treatment.
AP Times soon after received a message from the supposed assailant of this crime in the form of a video of Ms. Azariah. We will not be releasing complete details of this video at this time. The general contents of the video are a series of disturbing clips of Ms. Azariah being forced by means of torture and manipulation to recount her crimes in a lengthy confession. AP Times has followed the story of Ms. Azariah throughout her spree to the conclusion of her plea deal recently with the court system. She was required as part of her plea deal to admit to the crimes she had been accused of on record when she took the stand. The video delivered to the AP Times however offers more detailed accounting and Ms. Azariah as one can see from the screen was clearly forced into speaking. The source of the video is still unknown at this time and although we have assumed it was her attacker. No arrests have been made regarding this crime. -reported by {NPC reporter} Zach Cross released on bail this week along with Othello Mikhailov and an unknown African American male invaded the home of local reporter Jaden Montgomery this week. Montgomery was home alone at the time when she heard the beep of her alarm noting to her someone had entered her premises. She called out towards whomever it was and when no answer came towards her armed herself and attempted to make a call to emergency services. Before she was able to relay her information, Othello Mikhailov entered her bedroom armed with a gun presumably to cause her bodily harm. Soon after Zach Cross entered the room followed by an unknown 3rd man.
Montgomery was ordered to hang up the phone. She complied and then was asked to drop her weapon as Othello Mikhailov closed in to take it from her by force. She fired on him and he took a GSW to the chest causing him to stumble backwards and fire his weapon as well. There were several shots exchanged alerting those nearby to call the authorities. Montgomery also took two shot in the exchange of gunfire before it concluded. Bethann Causten made a call to emergency services leading APPD to the right area to assist. Unfortunately the suspects were able to escape the scene and are now hiding out or have fled the city. Be on the lookout for these suspects and report them to APPD immediately if seen. These suspects are assumed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. A suspect known by the name of Zach Cross was apprehended late Saturday night in the sewers by Officer Jay Biafra. He had been listed to APPD as a BOLO after he was suspected of holding up Fast Eddie’s Diner at the end of last week. Last week when the police arrived to the diner, Cross had already left the scene of the crime riding a red bicycle. Cross was able to make away with around $500 cash between the register and the cash held on the four victims of the crime. Although he had fired a series of gunshots towards the group as he fled the diner, none of the people were injured.
Once in custody and searched, Zach Cross was found to be carrying the cell phone of the missing woman reported in the paper last week. Beatrice Labeau, a nurse at APH, was reported missing by her roommate when she started getting a number of text messages from Labeau’s cell phone that she claimed did not sound like her. When questioning on Sunday, Cross refused to give up the location of Labeau. Only after a friend of Labeau paid Cross $50,000 wired to his personal account did Cross finally provide the information to lead APPD to the victim. Labeau was recovered and quickly transported to APH to undergo medical care. Cross is held in custody for number of charges including kidnapping, blackmail, armed robbery, obstruction, aggravated assault, assault with the deadly weapon and grand larceny.
