[Life] Photo Contest Winners

The town of Asphyxiation Point announced a contest with a goal to capture the beauty of Asphyxiation Point through the eye of a camera last month. After hundreds of entries, the winners were announced last Saturday night at a formal event located at the Asphyxiation Point Theater. Volunteer organizers Laszlo Kuluk and Dr. Deranean Sands took center stage and announced the winners and gave out thousands of dollars in prizes to the talented photographers. Mr. Kuluk stated during the event that he didn’t have much experience in art and photography but he was a long term resident and the goal of the event was “to try and choose a selection of pictures which best captures the essence of Asphyxiation Point.”

The Town of Asphyxiation Point gave out $10,000 dollars in prizes for the top three photos in two themes, “Life at Asphyxiation Point” and “Autumn at Asphyxiation Point”. Because there were so many entries, the organizers debated on increasing the prize pool but in the end made the tough decision to come up with six winners. The photos are still open for viewing in the theater. Along with the winners on display. many of the entries are also being shown on the main screen. Stop by the theater this week for a moment to enjoy the viewing yourself or with with a friend and view our town through your fellow citizen’s eyes.
