According to the police, the man suspected of these attacks, Lee Adria, is not a resident of the island but has been known to frequent Paddy's Bar where he picked up at least one of his victims. The man uses a ruse of being a photographer to lure women and has no apparent specific type of woman that he assaults. To date his victims have had different social backgrounds and were different in appearance. Police say he even knew one of his victims while the other was a random stranger.
Lee Adria is described by police as being about 5'9" with brown hair and is usually well dressed. They only have one photograph of the suspect, a grainy, poorly lit image from surveillance cameras that were monitoring one of the victim's home. Police ask that anyone who might recognize the man to contact them immediately, but do not attempt to interact with his as he is considered armed and dangerous.
DeSanta would go on to say that the residents of Asphyxiation Point be vigilant and make sure to carry a rape whistle and pepper spray. The APPD does offer stun guns free of charge to the residents as well. They can be obtained at the APPD station. They are available in grey or pink and are limited to one per citizen according to Chief DeSanta.
As part of an ongoing effort to keep the people of AP safe, the APPD will soon be offering self defense and firearm safety classes. The details and times of the classes will be made available soon and the Times will keep you informed on that as well.
