The mayor has waved off such speculations as “ridiculous” when asked for comment about why reconstruction appears to be centered on the South and East of Asphyxiation Point. In his own words, “The cliff side has been shown to be quite unstable. It’s a situation we didn't expect and the entire area needed to be reinforced immediately or else risk further erosion and much more damage.”
This reporter pressed the mayor further to comment on the wrecks and detritus that have washed up upon our once fair beaches. Ships appear to have been heaved from the depths of the sea and already there have been injuries to curious explorers and those that firmly believe there are treasures hidden in the wrecks.
In response the public is being warned to stay clear of the shipwrecks and not to go near them. Salvage efforts on the ships are postponed until there is sufficient workforce to clear them properly.
