The first victim was an unidentifiable white male. His body was actually discovered in the lake, but marks on his body and forensic evidence showed that he had been in the sewer tunnels for some time before washing out into the open water. Police found the man after doing a sweep of the sewers during the investigation of the second victim.
The second victim, but the first body discovered, was identified as Lorelei Sharktooth. She was eighteen years old and a recent high school graduate with no criminal history and no known ties to Asphyxiation Point according to sources. Her mutilated body was found July 26th in the sewer tunnels close to The Aristocrat Club in Upper Town. The discovery was made by now deceased Detective Kenzie Barret who noticed a bloody trail that led from a cell phone in the street near a man hole cover. The body was nude and had been butchered almost beyond recognition.
The most recent body was found in the tunnels close to the hospital and identified as an out of state attorney named Clarissa Moore. Police officials say she did have some ties to the island but they would not give details.
APPD has interviewed several potential suspects, but say there is not enough evidence linking either of the people of interest directly to the killings. According to police information the suspect is of average appearance with short hair and stands 5'8. APPD Chief DeSanta gave a psychological profile of the man responsible.
"We believe our killer is inadequate. (with a) History of abject failure, simply a loser. They're using these murders as a way to empower themselves. Underachiever, thinks they're smarter than they actually are and are trying to toy with the police to prove it. Possibly impotent, definitely got sexual dysfunction which adds to their need to prove themselves otherwise. They're new to this, still perfecting their killings. The first killing was possibly what gave them a taste of power."he told the Times.
DeSanta went on to say that the sewers were now being patrolled by two person teams in an effort to keep the community safe and track down any additional information on the killer. The APPD is actively investigating these killings and ask that anyone who might have any information about the murders to contact authorities.
