Eva Perry, Asphyxiation Point's DA, and Phedre Dumouriez, Editor of this publication, were found yesterday evening while attempting to escape from a secret room deep in the town's sewers.
An unnamed, unconscious and grievously wounded woman was also found with them.
Sources say that both women were in distress at the time of their rescue; Ms. Perry sounds to have been dirty, deprived of food, and in shock, but Ms. Dumouriez was clearly the more seriously affected of the two - her body emaciated and severely weakened - and she apparently had to be treated with an opiate antagonist immediately after medical assistance arrived.
The timely arrival of the Asphyxiation Point Police Department, including Chief Kerri Oakleaf, Detective Warwick DeSanta and Officer Gabriella Nystuen - in conjunction with the medical expertise of Dr. Mary Underwood - are likely to have saved at least one of the three woman's lives.
Unfortunately for the third, unnamed individual, the help arrived too late, and she was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.
When asked for a comment, Chief Oakleaf had this to say: "Thanks to diligent, round the clock efforts by Asphyxiation Point's finest, we are able to announce a happy resolution to these two troubling disappearances. Both Phedre Dumouriez and Eva Perry were rescued last night, alive and will be returning to their families. We ask that you observe their need for privacy at this time."
The investigation continues for now while the police try and determine several questionable factors into both the disappearance and the rescue.
