At the corner of Beacon and 2nd last night, in front of Fast Eddie’s Diner, sources have reported another incident of criminal activity on what appeared to be a peaceful evening. As reported to AP Times a man who has now been identified as Othello Yanovich Mikhailov, manager of Skin Deep Tattoos and Piercings in the Red Light District stood in front of the diner and at first seemed harmless to onlookers and spoke to no one. Soon after a woman approached by the name of Final Destination and walked towards the man. She was clearly his intended target as he quickly pulled a handgun with a silencer and fired two shots in rapid succession at Final Destination. Police officers on a routine patrol witnessed the event on the street as well as other bystanders. As the officers exited the vehicle to apprehend the suspect and take control of the crime scene, Mikhailov noticed the squad car and attempted to flee from the crime. He shot off his weapon several more times towards the approaching officers striking Officer Peter-Oswald Mockingbird who fell to the ground also wounded. Emergency officials were called to carry the two victims to the hospital. After receiving the report of the incident onsite, Officer Jay Biafra lead a team of officers to apprehend Mikhailov. It is rumored that Mikhailov, after leading the group on a chase, was apprehended close to the town chapel early this morning. The medical staff at AP Hospital reported that the victims would recover although surgery of at least one was required. If caught, Mikhailov will face charges of attempted murder of the officer and the civilian. Under two weeks, Mikhailov was charged with resisting arrest after officers found him in possession of deadly weapon in front of the diner. Before firing at the victim last evening, witnesses report that Mikhailov shouted, “Your boyfriend is next.” The threat raises many questions. Why was Final Destination the target of this crime? Who is the missing boyfriend that could possibly be the next target? Will the police be able to find and secure him before he joins Destination in the hospital or the morgue? Lastly and most importantly, is the court system doomed to fail? With Mikhailov back on the streets and in under two weeks raising his level of violence to shooting civilians on the street is the bold new home rehabilitation strategy the way to go to curb the rising crime in the city?
