We all know the dangers of things that go bump in the night, but we do we truly know what they are? It has come to my attention that, no, no we do not. Over the evening of the Masquerade Ball one of the local citizens was sexually assaulted. Her name isn’t being released due to Victim rights, but this brave woman survived this traumatizing event to report it to the police. Sadly, nothing has seemed to get beyond that point. At the time of this report the police have no suspects and are quoted as saying “We have a number of witnesses, an' DNA of the attacker. Unfortunately it is looking like the attacker may have travelled here for the Festival and left on the morning Sea Plane." So they assume he left, they have DNA which means since he isn’t in the system he may just have gotten sloppy this time, and they missed him any other time. The informant at the police station also is quoted as saying "His details have been passed tah State Police an the harbour authorities on the mainland have been notified." Alright, now that sounds like its getting somewhere…until I asked for a sketch of the assailant to put in the paper to warn people about…..and this was the reply. Again, the man was quoted word from word “A sketch? Like an artists sketch thing? 'Fraid not, all we got is a descrption. Tall, well build, well dresed, short dark brown hair, glasses. Were at a masquerade ball, but weren't wearing a mask." So yes, there you have it. Beware citizens of Asphyxiation Point……a man with short brown hair and glasses….will come get you. Great police work there. I know I personally feel safe already! Though I will include the address to the Mayor’s office so that you can let the Mayor know personally how safe your feeling after this hard work put in by the local APPD.
